FosteringDogs.com was started a few months after I started to foster dogs for a local rescue organisation. I started to foster because I wanted more dogs in my life, but already had three of my own. I saw an advertisement on Gumtree.com.au for foster carers, and enquired.
So here I am caring for dogs that are not mine until homes can be found for them. And loving it.
As a coach, I specialise in coaching research students (at master’s and doctorate level, mostly) to finish their degrees quicker and easier. Typically, researchers come to me with all sorts of issues surrounding their candidature, plus life balance issues. You can read more about my coaching at http://www.PhDSuccess.com/.
As an editor, I work with words to make sure they really say what the author meant to say. The work I do here includes copy editing for sense, grammar, spelling, punctuation and flow; proofreading the manuscript before publishing; and desktop publishing. Desktop publishing is an interesting term. It includes graphic design, layout, typesetting, photo manipulation, illustration, research, writing and a whole heap of other stuff that leads to a final (usually printed) product. It can include books, brochures, websites, flyers, posters, wrapping paper, greeting cards, logos … the list goes on. My website for this part of my work is at http://www.Gryphonworks.com/.
Anyway, this list was intended to show that I not only coach people on issues related to productivity, but that I am also involved in the production end of project management. I also have a blog that talks about productivity, time management and other issues related to getting to where you want to be: http://www.AllPathsToVictory.com.
I also have a lot of other projects on my plate. I received a PhD in Egyptology in 2002, and am in the process of editing the dissertation for publication. You can read more about my dissertation and other Egyptological research at http://www.OldKingdomStudies.com/.
I also have two websites for one of my life-long passions: Girl Guides. One website is full of resources for youth leaders: http://www.Guidingworks.com/, and the other one is about where I am a Guide Leader: http://www.BaulkhamHillsGuides.org/.
